Things to do in Devon in September

Starting this Wednesday the 13th September - 19th is the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival with talks from Radio 2's Jeremy Vine, news corresponce Jon Sopel, ex MP Alan Johnson to name just a few who will be sharing their experiences.

Sunday 17th September - World of Country life host the West Country Vehicle Club Car Rally where there will be over 100 cars on show plus an oppportunity to visit the Transport Musuem and see cars which have appeared in the TV programmes Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge.

Sidmouth Walking Festival commences 23rd - 29th September; enjoy these free guided walks in and Sidmouth.  Booking is advisable.

On the 24th September pop along to Exeter Quay to support the Devon Air Ambulance and watch the annual Dragon Boat Racing taking place between 10am - 4pm.  

If you are a member of the National Trust why not visit Castle Drogo, Killerton House, Knighthayes or A ronde to name just a few of the wonderful properties to visit whilst staying at Alpine Park Cottages.

Visit Powderham Castle the private home of Earl and Countess of Devon; enjoy a guided tour around the house and take in the beautiful views of River Exe

Visit the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, enjoy lunch in their new cafe as well as visit the lovely donkeys too!

Stuart Line Cruises; escape for a few hours on one of these informative trips along the River Exe.  The boats have covered and heated seating below and you still see the wonderful views.  Hot drinks are also served onboard the vessels.  Take your pet pooch for a ride too!
